| Once More into the Breach |
[Oct. 30th, 2009|03:28 am] |
Trying to finish a Snape/OFC I have been working on for THREE years. I lost all will to finish after Deathly Hallows. I just have to get it done, but I no longer see Severus as alive. I guess I shall try one more time to finish the never-ending WIP so I can put him to rest. I hate saying that, thinking that, but it is how I feel.

| Unfaithful, am I. |
[Apr. 29th, 2009|12:12 am] |
Somehow, I got sucked into the madness of another fandom. I never overlap fandoms, ever, yet the allure of a canon M/M couple (and gorgeous actors) overcame my strict one fandom at a time habit.
It seems the majority of the Torchwood fandom action is taking place elsewhere, but I have been able to log into other journaling sites with Open ID, so I have been overwhelmed with new fanfic to read.
The worst thing is that I have a new set of action figures on order. There is a dark shelf under my Snapey doll's living room and I am searching for a large bed for the new boys. To my vexation, the Torchwood figures are all 5 inches tall, and Snapey is 7 inches. I had searched for a 5 inch Snape, but he is elusive.
I am plotting out a threesome, crossover story as well. It makes me sad, because I am so not over Snape, but the other HP characters have scurried away from my imagination.
For those twitterers/Torchwood fans, there is a new twitter-related site...if you are so inclined, visit http://twibes.com/torchwood

At last, the snapelyholidays master list is posted and I am able to thank </a></b></a> femmequixotic for the fabulous story she wrote. It is a post DH Snape/Draco and it defies all explanation. You have to read it to fully appreciate the masterful crafting, the delightful details and the perfect characterizations. Please go and read this masterpiece, and leave a comment.

| Alternative to ETSY |
[Dec. 11th, 2008|01:40 pm] |
Just a note for anyone with an ETSY shop who is disappointed and frustrated with sales. Art Fire is a new online artisan site that is offering a lifetime - $7.00 per month unlimited (fee-free) storefront. The admins are extremely helpful and they seem to want to take what ETSY does wrong and make their site work like we want ETSY to do.
Anyway, this site is in BETA, there are bugs, but getting in at the start seems to be prudent at this time. |

| I Love This Picture |
[Nov. 4th, 2008|03:16 pm] |

Yes, I fully admit to being weird. I just wanted to have it here so I can see it. Every morning, when I check Daily Kos, I see this picture and it brings a smile to my face. I expect that the Morning Joe post will not be a regular feature after tomorrow, so I place it here to get my fix each day. |

| Squeee! |
[Oct. 2nd, 2008|03:27 pm] |
I just found out that my hp_tarot story won for best Post-War Snape/Draco:

And the same story was featured on the front page of The Petulant Poetess in September!
Thanks to everyone who read and nominated Remnants of Youth, I really thought it was rubbish, but I guess I have been proven to be my toughest critic.
No pressure, then, for my </a></b></a> snapelyholidays story. :) |

| Ruminations on a Disaster |
[Sep. 14th, 2008|10:56 pm] |
(NB: This is not a castigation of those that were in harms way, but of those in outlying areas who have an intact residence and electricity.)
I live in Dallas. As soon as it looked like Hurricane Ike would hit on the Texas coast, I bought 5 days worth of non-perishable food and water, filled up my gas tank, refilled my prescriptions and made sure I had plenty of batteries. I had anticipated that maybe the feeder bands from the storm might hit my area. Whenever we have high winds, the power goes out. I know this from experience.
I cannot imagine living in the coastal areas of Texas and NOT have the basics ready during hurricane season. Dried cereal, canned food, powdered milk and water are not so expensive that one might not be able to have such simple provisions at hand.
And it got me to thinking; how can one NOT make the most basic of preparations? Do they not remember the horrors of Rita and Katrina? It is just that people want to believe that they are exempt from disaster? I just don't have any answers. |

I find myself the host of another S.N.A.P.E. contest, thanks to </a></b></a> florence_craye choosing me as the winner of her contest.
S.N.A.P.E. stands for The Society for Nonsensical ArtPad Enthusiasts, where humor is more important that artistic skill. I know that I have a small flist, and most already are members of S.N.A.P.E., but in case anyone is interested, check out my contest, and post an entry. Thanks!

| Who Has Which Wand? Arrrggg! |
[Jul. 28th, 2008|05:37 pm] |
I am really distressed. Yesterday I finally acknowledged Portrait Snape, and today, while writing a scene for my HP Tarot story, I find that I have to read Deathly Hallows in order to sort out the wand ownership issue for some of the characters. The wand issues, especially in the moments after the final battle, are excruciatingly confusing. My bitter memory of DH is not sufficient to sort it out. I still get a headache when thinking of the wand conundrums in that dastardly book .
Oh Merlin, I actually will have to re-read some chapters to clear up the ownership question. I'm going in, wish me luck and a retention of my sanity! |
